Product Description

The anthrone with the cas number of 90-44-8 is a light yellow solid powder. It is made from anthrone with tin and hydrochloric acid or with a protective powder. Soluble in most organic solvents and hot sodium hydroxide solution, insoluble in cold sodium hydroxide solution, do not dissolve in water. No fluorescence, the fluorescence is caused by anthrone. An alkali metal salt dissolved in anthracene when heated. The anthrone can be used to prepare benzanthrone and dyes, and also for the colorimetric determination of sugars. Usually we refer to this type of anthraquinone colorimetric method,it is a fast and simple method of sugar fixing. The anthrone can react with hexose, pentosyl and hexuronic acid in free hexose or polysaccharide. After the reaction, the solution is blue-green and has the maximum absorption at 620nm. Anthrone colorimetric method can also be used to determine the content of glycogen, can also be used to determine the content of glucose.
