Vandetanib CAS NUMBER is 443913-73-3 is a multi-target tyrosine kinase inhibitor, belongs to aniline quinazoline compounds, as known as "second generation IRESSA". It is the first approved mediastinal thyroid cancer treatment drug that is suitable for the treatment of unresectable, locally advanced or metastatic symptomatic or progressive medullary thyroid carcinoma. A randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial showed that Vandetanib significantly delayed the progression of locally advanced or metastatic thyroid medullary carcinoma. The recommended daily dose is 300 mg and should be discontinued when the patient is resistant to the drug or can not tolerate its toxicity. According to a study published by the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Vandetanib can effectively prolong progression-free survival in patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) compared with gefitinib, which has an inhibitory effect only on EGFR. In clinical trials if the patient progress or can not tolerate toxicity, allowing it changes the treatment program. The test results showed that the control rate of patients treated with gefitinib instead of vandetanib 443913-73-3 was 14%, compared with 32% for patients treated with vandetanib instead of gefitinib.
