Tafluprost cas number 209860-87-7,which is a novel prostaglandin analogue, developed and produced by Japan's Santen Co., Ltd. It is mainly used for the treatment of open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension in patients with elevated intraocular pressure. The mechanism of ocular hypotensive action is to promote the outflow of aqueous humor through the uveoscleral membrane to reduce intraocular pressure. The 15th hydroxyl group in the structure of the traditional prostaglandin analog is a necessary functional group for the prostaglandin receptor agonist to exert physiological activity, and the fluoroprostaglandin replaces the functional group with 2 F atoms, and can be used as an isopropyl ester. The corneal esterase is rapidly hydrolyzed to the free acid form, the active form of the drug. The affinity of tafluprost for the FP receptor of the iris ciliary body is about 12 times stronger than the carboxylic acid product of latanoprost.
