Product Description

2-picolinic acid CAS number is 98-98-6. The appearance is white needle crystal. The temperature of 134-136℃, soluble in glacial acetic acid, almost insoluble in ether, chloroform and carbon disulfide. 2-picolinic acid can be used to prepare transition metal complexes of picolinato ligands, as well as for the synthesis of drugs for neurosuppression and local anesthesia. The specific synthesis process of 2-picolinic acid CAS number 98-98-6 is as follows:
50 g of 2-methylpyridine was added to 2500 ml of water, stirred with heating, and 90 g of potassium permanganate was added. After about 1 h, a second portion of 90 g of potassium permanganate was added. Add 500 ml of water and continue to heat for 2-2.5 h until the purple color disappears. After cooling, the manganese dioxide precipitate was filtered off and washed with hot water. The filtrate was concentrated under reduced pressure and filtered. The concentrate was acidified to concentrated Congo red acid with concentrated hydrochloric acid and evaporated to dryness and then refluxed with 250 mL of 95% ethanol for 1 h. After filtration, the filter cake was extracted with 95% ethanol, and the ethanol filtrate and the extract were combined, and dried hydrogen chloride was introduced until the crystals began to precipitate. After cooling to 10℃, hydrogen chloride was added to the distillation, and 2-picolinic acid was filtered off, and dried to give 43-44 gram.
